A long week

Whew! What a week it has been! Let me fill you all in: I worked for Monday and Tuesday and was supposed to spend Wednesday and Thursday packing. That didn't exactly happen. We ended up doing all sorts of running around on Wednesday. We went to the doctors to renew prescriptions before the drug place ran out. We had to pick up several random last minute things. Then Shaun had to work at 4. THEN I was about to start packing when my friend Lisa called. SHE'S PREGNANT after about 11 years of trying! YAAAYY! So, naturally I went to visit her instead of packing. Thursday was supposed to be packing day. Unfortunately I got very sick on Wednesday evening. I will spare you the details, but needless to say I finished several Sudoku puzzles while hanging out in the bathroom. So, Thursday, being thoroughly dehydrated, I didn't do much. As the day progressed, I noticed that my head was really itchy. And then I noticed what I thought were big bites all over. They turned into full-blown welts by the end of the day. I woke up in the middle of the night to find my neck and chest covered in hives! So, we were supposed to leave for Chilliwack at 8 AM. Instead I went to the hospital. And waited for 3 hours and the left, thinking that I'd be better off to go to a clinic in Chilliwack. So, we left for Chilliwack around 11:30. We unpacked and then went to the clinic. The first one was packed and sweaty and hot (nobody here has air conditioning). So, we went to a different one. Only about a two hour wait By that time my stomach was also covered in little red dots. The doc told me to take Benadryl. Then she noticed my horrible cough (remnants of a cold from 4 weeks ago). She told me that I need puffers. Which was not such great news the day AFTER our drug plan ran out. I got my puffers went home and took Benadryl and had an oatmeal bath. I went to sleep and woke up only to find my entire body covered in horrible, red, itchy welts. No longer the 'bug bites'. So, off tot he hospital this time. That wait wasn't too bad. The doc did mention that I looked like I was trying to get myself into the dermatology text books! So, more prescriptions (prednasone) and more benadryl and Zantac (who knew? Zantac help allergies too.). It is FINALLY starting to clear up today, although I am still itchy. My body is now covered in fading rash and small bruises and broken blood vessels where I scratched too hard. Welcome to Chilliwack! Incidentally, I did manage to find myself a great pharmacist at the Safeway. At least something good came out of it. ooo... and I got 10x airmiles on my $120 worth of drugs. That's it for now. We love our new place. We went to our friends' church this morning and really liked it. Later y'all!
